Redesign for CUNY Arts Webpage
Project Overview
This project involved a UX/UI redesign of the existing CUNY Arts webpage to enhance user experience and modernize its visual layout. The site serves current and prospective CUNY students by highlighting free and discounted arts and cultural events across New York City. The new design focuses on accessibility, clarity, and improved user engagement, making it easier for students to discover opportunities and connect with NYC’s vibrant cultural scene.
Goal
The primary objective was to make cultural opportunities easier to discover by improving content structure, navigation, and visual clarity. The redesign aimed to increase student engagement and create a more welcoming, intuitive experience.
Process
I analyzed the original website to identify usability issues such as visual clutter, unclear hierarchy, and limited accessibility. Based on these insights, I restructured the layout, improved typography and spacing, and applied a cleaner, more modern visual style. Accessibility and readability were prioritized throughout the design process.
Outcome
The final redesign delivers a more engaging and user-friendly experience that helps students quickly explore events and connect with NYC’s cultural scene. The project strengthened my skills in UX analysis, visual hierarchy, and accessibility-focused design.
